Project Blend - Voice tasks

So the tasks I assigned last week were for people to give a short examples and descriptions of what the characters sound like. The were 9 tasks in total, which shall be detailed below.

Alan – Helon and Tomato
K – Captain Fennel, Physalis and Pear
Daryl – The Grapevine and Cherries
Adam – Orange and Guava
Sean – Blueberries and Blackberries
Remis – Strawberry
Ben – Logan

I shall update this later to show who has done this or not. Also when these are all done I shall collate them into a document and post it here.

Project Blend - 3D andTextures and stuff

Ok so from last week I have been working hard, helping K out with 3D. I even did one of the first object textures for a can.

No one has actually replied to my forum topic, so i'll either have to get people to talk about it in a physical meeting, or just do it myself... or I guess as a coordinator I could actually assign a character to different people on the team, and make them write some stock dialog for the character and short description of this.

Project Blend - 3D!

Yup so now I shall be on the 3D team, helping K out. Unfortunately I have been a little lax and haven't done any 3D models as of yet. But today I shall start trying my best.
I shall have to refresh my 3D skills though.

I have also started a discussion on the forums so that we can decide what all the characters sound like. This should help me create specifications for our voice actors.

Project Blend - Script and Dialogue

So over this week I chose which barks should be recorded for Level 5 as well as some generic barks.
A sounds lab was booked and me, Sam, Ben and Naomi recoded them, all lending our voice talents.
An example of a few follow.

The script and vocals will probably be left until we start on another level. I shall now focus on helping with 3d work.

Project Blend - Level 5 script and enemy barks

Last meeting we had a chat about story and it was decided I should do a mock up script of level 5, as well as enemy barks for that level. I did the short script for todays meeting, but got stuck as the enemy barks. This led me to decide to do this as a group, bouncing about ideas would surely lead to humorous barks.
However most of the group seemed to be busy and as such I only got a small group. We did come up with some very good barks for the level and the game in general. I made records of all these suggestions. I shall now chose a few of these, and a few people, and get some stock dialogue recorded for the next meeting.

Project Blend - Level 5 Story Elements

So back to uni! We had a big meeting in which we were each given asset related tasks. Mine were to create an asset list of all the story assets in level 5.

What I came up with shall follow below:

  • Level starts with the grapevine congratulating him and telling Logan he must hurry to save his brethren.
  • They then goad him over the pile of plates to assassinate the Titan. This effectively traps Logan. He cannot turn back.
  • The kitchen should now seem more eerie. The kitchen is darker, danker. The grapevine is around, intersecting with the wires and power sources around the kitchen. The grapes themselves however are not present. The wires and vines are wrapping around objects, sticking into batteries and plug sockets. These are all however leading forward, into the Blender’s Lair.
  • Non-zomberry enemies can be overheard talking about ‘The Blender’s big plans’.
The next meeting is to decide things such as how we will split into teams and work, as well as naming conceptions etc.
